EARTHQUAKES, HURRICANES, TSUNAMIS AND CYCLONES
Nature wrath destruction, the DEATHS.....But Why the DEATHS??
Yet another Calamity takes the lives of people who waited for this calamity all their lives. These people, who built their homes over the ruins and out of the remains of someother disaster, will again build the same things with the same hopes of seeing the same ruins once again, before they die too.
The expected disaster has struck. The expected relief is in place with more on the way. The camps brimming again with the self-same survivors of yesterdays disaster. The Governments uttering the same noises, along with the thunder of the best aircraft carrying the best food and relief.
The same relief teams executing the expertise gained from the previous disaster, along with their jet-lag.
The same NGOs are there... probably with the same soiled linen kits from across the globe.
Their wet shoes will cake in the dry soil.
The same money will fly all around the dust filled ruins, carrying the marks of some other willing victim of someother location.
This is the time warp. History accurately reliving the centuries old truths and stories with new color and pace. The proofs of the predictions galore, experts will tally their previous forecasts with tear-stained satisfaction.
The same contractors will build the same abodes with the same adobe, but with a brighter red tinge.
History, will repeat again, convincingly and confidently.
...and Man will repeat the same folly once again, daringly and dejectedly.
Remember Dholavira? in the middle of the great Northern Indian Antartica, that vast sea of water-less salt that swallowed the great Civilisations of the History books?? The tomb stone of the Harrappa, floating on the subterranean river Saraswati!
Forgotten the plowed up upheavel of the sandy Mohenjodaro?? Heres the reminder with the remains, probably, of the sunken civilisation.
The New Orleans? Living up to its name is uncontestantly NEW.
And the Mumbai below the sea level... or is it Levees??
The living, did so amidst the dead of yesteryears.
Proximity with the long dead is probably more dear. Maybe near and dear are near to the dear!!!
The paradox of the safe empty spaces and dangerous dense locales. The population density is directly proportional to the danger and inversely proportional to longeivity.
Absurd, stupid but true.
